Who we are

Porto Invicta Hash House Harriers is a social running and walking group based on Porto, Portugal following the customs of Hash House Harriers kennels worldwide, but especially the Asian traditions.

Our purpose is to enjoy brisk exercise in friendly company with an element of challenge both in following the right trail and running in unfamiliar places.

Developing a healthy thirst for beer or other
refreshment is a significant benefit of the running

What the hash ?

The first Hash House Harriers club was formed in Malaysia in 1930's and the idea spread rapidly worldwide after 1960.

More information on the history and culture can be found on Wikipedia and many other sites.

Our hash is open to all adults and to children who can keep up with their parents and are immune to some 'adult' language during and after the run. The children are entirely the responsibility of their parents.

We hash on alternate Saturday afternoons, near enough to Porto city, the metro or urban railway to be easily accessible without a car. Runs will be about 5 to 10km in length and 60 to 90 minutes duration and may include a refreshment stop , 'Pitstop' Most runs will be fully marked before the start by the hares but some runs might be marked by 'live hares' who start only several minutes before the pack start in pursuit. Like most Hashes worldwide we talk in English and Rubbish principally but try any other language and if you mime well enough we will understand you.
